Moving to number 21 in the LILJ top 25 preseason rankings are the Smithtown East Bulls hailing from Suffolk Class A. After an 8-9 overall record in 2024 with a trip to the playoffs, they now have a new head coach at the helm with Kevin Huff entering his first season. The team will see the return of plenty of players from last years team that are upperclassmen and back with another year of experience under their belt as they strive to make another playoff appearance and advance beyond the quarterfinals.

Smithtown’s offense is led by Cameron James their junior Yale bound attackman who comes off of a big time sophomore season where he had a team high 58 points, with 39 goals and 19 assists. Headlining the midfield is senior Luke DiMaria who is second in points among their returning players with 43, scoring 30 goals with 13 assists. At the face-off X the Bulls return three FOGO’s in junior Campbell Cracchiola and seniors Brody Ritter (FSC) and Andre McGraime (Cortland) that will be getting the ball to their offense.

Defensively their key returning players include seniors Sean Pellegrino (Manhattan), Brody Bernhardt (UMass Lowell) and freshman Brock Bernhardt. In the cage as their starting goalie will be senior Drexel commit Brendan Carroll whose 212 saves was good for sixth in all of Suffolk County with a save percentage of 64%. The Bulls defense averaged fewer than eight goals per game last season, a number that they would love to replicate in 2025.

Smithtown’s season opener will take place on March 26th in a non-league contest against Syosset of Nassau Class A, and their first league follows on April 3rd against Commack.
