At number 21 in the LILJ top 25 preseason rankings we head back to Suffolk County with the Huntington Blue Devils in Class A. This is a team that is on the rise as they ascend to serious contention to play for the county championship this season. Last year the Blue Devils had an overall record of 10-7 and appeared in the playoffs but were defeated in the quarterfinals. This year they see the return a number of players that now have multiple years of experience playing together which gives a strong chance at having a very good regular season and the potential to have a deep playoff run. The Blue Devils are led by head coach Katie Reilly who enters her third season with the team, and this winter they took part in the LILJ High School Winter League to gear up for the spring.

Starting with their offense, Huntington returns a talented cast of upperclassmen. In the senior class they are led by Binghamton commit Sabrina Boyle and Cornell commit Devon St. John both at midfield. Boyle their leading scorer among their returning players found the back of the net 41 times with 14 assists for 55 points, while St. John titled 28 points with 19 goals and 9 assists. Adding to their offense in the senior class is Jenna Italiano (Molloy) at attack. In the 2026 class is the trio Jolie Weinschreider (Rutgers), Grace Gordon (Lafayette) and Bridget Callery (Quinnipiac). Weinschreider will be a huge presence on the draw circle and can play both attack and midfield, scoring 29 goals with 7 assists last season. Gordon who can also play both attack and midfield had a big sophomore season with 21 goals and 16 assists, and at attack Callery accounted for 29 points with 13 goals and 16 assists. In addition to their returning players they also get a big acquisition as Valentina Puccio transfers back from Kellenberg. Huntington as a team averaged 10.6 goals per game in 2024 which was good for top 10 in Suffolk County.

The defense for Huntington includes Ava McDonald, one of the top defenders in the sophomore class as an elite on-ball defender and great in the clearing game. In goal they have two underclassmen in sophomore Andie DiGioia and freshman Juliet Johnson, each splitting time in the cage with 46 saves from Johnson and 42 from DiGioia.

Opening up the season Huntington will face Farmingdale in a non-league matchup on March 28th and their first league contest takes place on April 2nd against Bay Shore.
