LILJ Girls Winter League Playoff Recap; Game Write-Ups, Analysis, Player Performances

Week 4 of the LILJ Girls Winter League marked the start of the playoffs which delivered everything you’d expect from postseason lacrosse, with high stakes, some nail-biting finishes, and standout performances across the board. With teams battling for advancement, the intensity level picked up a notch, resulting in players delivering under the bright lights on the big stage. In total, 34 games were played over the past three days,  setting the tone for an exciting playoff push as teams continue their championship runs. Down below are the recaps of all 34 games between Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, before the playoffs resume tomorrow evening!

Team 91 Crush 2031 vs YJ Hoschel 2032

Kicking off the Saturday slate of games was a matchup in the Middle School Division featuring two of the top club teams in their respective classes between Team 91 Crush and YJ Hoschel! This one saw 91 Crush edge out YJ Hoschel in a highly competitive matchup, pulling away late for an 11–9 victory after a tightly contested first half that was knotted at 5–5. Both teams traded runs early, with YJ Hoschel matching Team 91 goal for goal through the opening frame, but Crush used balanced scoring and timely stops in the second half to secure the win.

Offensively, Holly Schenkel led the way for Team 91 with a standout all-around performance, finishing with three goals and two assists for a game-high five points, consistently creating offense and capitalizing on key moments. Reese Chirico was also instrumental, posting two goals and one assist while contributing across the field with four ground balls and three draw controls with a 60% winning percentage along with a caused turnover. Scarlett Lentini matched Chirico’s offensive production with two goals and one assist, while Sienna Massaro added two goals providing efficient scoring when Crush needed it. Adding one goal each included Harper Rogler, and Madison Degnan with Ally Jo Brady dishing out an assist. In the trenches Reilly Hagerstrom led also added four ground balls, and Team 91 benefited from stellar goalkeeping headlined by Angelina Perrotta tallying seven saves with a 64% save percentage. Sophia Landon and Olivia Goldacker combined for six saves with a 57% and 50% save percentage respectively, rounding out strong goaltending all-around.

For YJ Hoschel they continue to see exceptional play from Reese Henderson, who finished with a hat-trick and one assist, generating consistent pressure and accounting for four points. Isabella Ferraresi struck for two goals, while Keira Corrigan chipped in with a goal and an assist, and Claire Csajko and Taylor Mounce each found the back of the net as well. Ella Chiaramonte stood out in the hustle category, collecting five ground balls, while Henderson and Elena Dooley each contributed caused turnovers to spark defensive stops.

Bayport JV vs Legacy Blue 2030

In a matchup between the Phantoms and the 2030s of Legacy, Bayport JV opened the game with a strong first-half surge and held off a late push to earn an 11–7 win over Legacy Blue. Bayport built early momentum behind crisp ball movement and efficient finishing, taking a 7–3 lead at halftime before both teams traded goals in a more even second half. Offensively, Bayport was paced by a dominant showing from Kaelyn Aiello, who continues to impress as she finished with a game-high five goals and one assist, consistently finding space and converting high-quality chances. Charlotte Bishop was equally impactful across the field, posting four goals and one assist while controlling the middle with five draw controls and four ground balls. Kylie Jensen added a well-rounded performance with one goal and two assists, contributing as a playmaker, while Ella Little facilitated the offense with three assists. Olivia Luce chipped in with a goal, as Bayport’s balanced offensive firepower proved to be the difference maker. Defensively and in goal, Bayport received steady play from Lilian Capozzi, who made four saves in the second half to help preserve the lead, while Anastasia Cirone added key stops early. Legacy Blue was led by Kaylee Webb, who recorded two goals and two assists, driving much of the team’s offense. Kasey Cangelosi added two goals, while Hailey Paulus, Brooklyn Paulus, and Liberty Favor each found the back of the net. The defense saw Kendal DeHoyas and Abby Puopolo each contribute with multiple ground balls, while in goal Olivia Mullins recorded five saves.

YJ Hoschel 2032 vs GC Tradition 2031

In the second of two games on the day for YJ Hoschel, this one saw them face the 2031s of GC Tradition. YJ Hoschel used a commanding second half to pull away from Tradition, earning a 14–9 victory after trailing 5–4 at the break. GC Tradition was able to build a two goal lead in the first half, but YJ flipped the momentum after halftime, outscoring GC 10–4 behind great ball movement, draw control efficiency, and aggressive attacking play. The offensive catalyst for YJ Hoschel was Reese Henderson, who delivered a second straight standout performance on the day, this time finishing with four goals, consistently breaking down the defense and finishing in tight space. Isabella Ferraresi and Claire Csajko added to the offensive firepower, each tallying two goals, while Elena Dooley was a difference maker all over the field, finishing with one goal, one assist, a game-high seven ground balls, while going a perfect 3/3 on draw controls. The trio of Mackenzie Daly, Taylor Mounce and Kylie Hochmuth all tallied one goal each.  Aubrey Herbst contributed with one goal and one assist, and adding one assist each was Julia Abiuso, Keira Corrigan, and Makenna Lawrence, as YJ spread the offense and capitalized on second-half opportunities. Defensively, YJ tightened up after the break, forcing turnovers and limiting GC’s clean looks. Zoe Gieser was sharp in goal during her time in the cage, stopping five shots with a 56% save percentage. GC Tradition was led offensively by Claire Coelen, who put together a five point game with a hat-trick and two assists while Lilian Coratti also added three goals and an assist. Brae McDonough chipped in with one goal and one assist and Cecilia Szabo and Isabella Ordas each found the back of the net.

Jesters Pirreca 2029 vs YJ Curcio 2031

In a club battle between the 29s of Jesters Pirreca and the 31s of YJ Curcio, this one saw Jesters jump out early on their way to a 16–8 victory after building an 8–3 halftime lead. Jesters set the tone from the opening draw with a fast-paced offense and controlling possession while capitalizing on their scoring chances in both halves to secure the decisive win. The story of the game was Kylie Gorman, who was absolutely unstoppable for Jesters, delivering a game for the ages scoring a whopping 10 goals with one assist, finishing with 11 points while putting constant pressure on the defense showcasing her ability to score in a variety of ways as the quarterback of the offense. Jessie Sandford added two goals and an assist while Alice Meaney chipped in two goals. Brooke Benati and defender Ava Fitzgibbon contributed key goals as well. In the ground game Gorman also led the team with a game-high 8 ground balls followed by three ground balls each from Olivia Wong, Benanti and Fitzgibbon. In the cage was Talia Davis who made six saves in the win. YJ Curcio showed fight throughout, particularly in the second half, and was led offensively by Anna Perrotta, who totaled three points with a goal and two assists. Charlotte Hoschel struck for two goals, while Morgan Kashetta also netted two goals and was 2/3 on the on the draw circle. Rounding out the offense was Giulianna Mancini with one goal and one assist and one goal each from Ashley Manolakes and Ariana Joe.

GC Tradition 2031 vs YJ Patrone Cristodero 2031

Back for their second game of the day was GC Tradition, this time facing the 2031s of YJ Patrone Cristodero and they were able to bounce back as they pulled away in the second half to earn a convincing 15–7 win,  taking a 6–4 lead into halftime before outscoring YJ 9–3 over the final stretch. Tradition’s balanced offense, strong draw control, and ability to minimize turnovers proved to be the difference as the game progressed. Offensively, Claire Coelen continues to be the engineer, this time connecting for a game-high five goals scoring both off the dodge as well as on off-ball movement. Lilian Coratti delivered an all-around offensive performance with four goals and two assists, while Erin Groarke added two goals and two assists and was active all over the field with five ground balls. Continuing the offensive outburst, Brae McDonough poured in two goals and two assists while controlling the midfield, contributing four draw controls, and Cecilia Szabo chipped in a goal and an assist. Defensively, Tradition forced turnovers and limited second chances and were very efficient in the clearing game. On the other side YJ Patrone was guided by Christina Morrone, who accounted for more than half of the team’s offense with four goals, attacking confidently and converting her opportunities. Teagan Chamberlain, Evie Duswalt, and Makenna Dimaio each found the back of the net, while Amelia Cynar added an assist. In goal, Violet Cynar and Greta Minnerop combined for 10 saves, while seeing a high volume of shots throughout the game.

GC Tradition 2029 vs YJ Arnone 2030

The 29s of GC Tradition delivered a complete performance, defeating the 30s YJ Arnone by a 15–4 final after building a 7–2 halftime lead and continuing to control play in the second half. Tradition’s pace, ball movement, and tremendous goaltending set the tone early, as they were able to come away victorious for their fourth win in pool play. The Tradition offense was led by Kaila Hansman, who finished with a game-high four goals on five shots on goal, showing confidence as a primary scoring threat. Grace Wheeler was excellent as a facilitator with three assists as well as a goal while Reese Gottelmann added one goal and two assists to help drive the attack. Emily Bennett scored two goals and created disruption defensively, and multiple players—including Ava Reni, Marlee Cohen, Elizabeth Rogers, Ella Melendez, and Abigail Smith contributed to a balanced scoring effort that kept constant pressure on the YJ Arnone defense. Defensively, GC Tradition was outstanding from end to end. Goalies Maggie Baulch and Isabella Dellaratta combined for 15 saves, each allowing just two goals, anchoring a unit that forced turnovers and limited clean looks. It was five saves in the first half by Dellaratta that set the tone, with a stellar 71% save percentage and it was followed by Baulch stepping in the second half delivering 10 saves with a remarkable 83% save percentage. Emily McDonald, Kennedy Kern, and Olivia Smolanick were active between the lines, winning ground balls and creating turnovers to ignite the Tradition offense. For YJ Arnone, Emily Tobin led the scoring with two goals, while Carol Ann Aiosa and Emerson LaPenna each found the back of the net. Reagan Sakowich and Mariah Ferruzzi contributed assists, and Aubrey Travers battled at the draw circle with three draw controls.

Team 91 Roar 2029 vs GC Tradition 2028

Opening up the playoffs in the Varsity Club Division it was a freshmen vs sophomore matchup between top seeded Team 91 Roar and the fourth seeded GC Tradition, and this one saw the freshmen of 91 Roar pull away in the second half to secure a 13–8 win over GC Tradition, turning a tightly contested first half into a strong finish. After taking a 5–4 lead at the break, Roar erupted for eight second-half goals, using pace in transition and balanced scoring to create separation. The offensive depth and efficiency continued to show itself for 91 as Juliet Diorio was a catalyst offensively, finishing with three goals and two assists, while Avah Robinson matched her with three goals and two assists, creating matchup problems from the midfield. Riley LaRocca and Kayley Obloj each chipped in with a hat-trick, as Roar spread the scoring and capitalized on key possessions. Jaidyn Marchitto added a goal and the team controlled the draw and ground ball battle to fuel their transition game. In the ground ball department leading the way was Diorio and Obloj each with four, followed by two each from Emmy Dilucci, Avah Robinson, Keira Pellizzi, Kaylee Lynch, Jaidyn Marchitto and Lily Gentile. The goalie duo of Gentile and Parasmo combined for nine saves with a 57% and 50% save percentage respectively. GC Tradition stayed competitive early behind Kaila Hansman, who led the offense with three goals and consistently drew attention in the middle of the field. Grace Wheeler added two goals, converting twice on the eight-meter, while Ava Oppedisano,  Kiley Barry and Emily Bennett also found the back of the net, keeping Tradition within striking distance through the opening half. In goal, Teagan Gately saw plenty of shots and finished the game with eight saves. With the victory for Team 91 Roar they advance to the semifinals on Saturday 1/10 where they will face the 27s of YJ Gaghan Torre at 4:45pm.

YJ Gaghan Torre 2027 vs Top-Tier

In the two vs three matchup in pool 1 of the Varsity Club Division the second seeded YJ Gaghan defeated the third seed free agents of Top-Tier, using a strong opening half and steady two-way play to earn a 12–9 victory, holding off a late push to close out a competitive matchup. YJ took control early with an 8–6 halftime lead, then matched Top-Tier goal for goal in the second half to preserve the win. Leah Cohen (LIU) and Megan Florio (Marist) each scored two goals, finding the seams in the defense, while Dani Torre (Stony Brook) added two goals of her own in key moments. Lyla Coffey (LIU) finished with two goals and helped control the tempo, and Caitlin Masera (Stony Brook) delivered an all around game with a goal, an assist, and strong draw control, winning five draws. Sarah Langdon (Binghamton) and Ellie Speidell also found the back of the net to round out the scoring. Defensively, YJ forced turnovers between Coffey, Teagan Trentowski (ESU), Jacki Galli (FSC) and limited second-chance opportunities, doing enough to withstand Top-Tier’s late surge. Top-Tier came out firing behind a balanced offensive effort. Juliann Brzeski (Stony Brook) led the way with three goals and one assist, consistently generating quality looks and setting the tone offensively. Sophia Enea matched her impact with three goals and an assist, while Kalli Sakalis (Nova Southern) added a goal and an assist and contributed between the lines with three ground balls. Skylar Wegiel and Emmy Iandiorio each chipped in goals, and Maggie McCabe was strong in goal during the second half, finishing with eight saves and a save percentage of 67% to keep Top-Tier within striking distance. The win for YJ means that they advance to the semifinals where they will face top seeded 91 Roar this Saturday 1/10 at 4:45pm

YJ Babst 2030 vs FLG Navy 2028

In pool 2 of the Varsity Club Division, the number two seed YJ Babst delivered an impressive all-around performance, pulling away from the number three seed FLG Navy 2028 for a 15–6 victory after building a 6–3 halftime lead and exploding for nine goals in the second half. YJ Babst controlled possession, won key battles in the midfield, and showcased their tremendous talent and skill en route to victory. The YJ Babst attack was sparked by the sharp shooting lefty Addison Chartrand, who finished with four goals, consistently converting high-quality looks when she got her hands free. Mackenzie Klammer put together another strong two-way outing, posting three goals and an assist while also contributing five ground balls and two caused turnovers, setting the tempo in transition. Julia Babst and Maggie Giachetti each added one goal and one assist. Additional scoring came from Addison FitzGibbon, Ella Dolezal, Jada Leonard, Vivienne Speidell, Ava Ciofrone, and Gabrielle Surdi, highlighting the balanced nature of the offense. In the midfield and defensive units, Brianna Tomicic stood out with four draw control wins, and Speidell and Klammer were active on ground balls, leading the team with five each. YJ Babst also came away with 10 caused turnovers led by two each forced by Chartrand, Speidell, Ciofrone, and Juliette Smith while Surdi and Voss both forced one turnover each. FLG Navy battled throughout the contest and was paced offensively by Kennedy Murnane, who scored two goals, while Kiera McNamara, Brooke Segura, Ashley Arizonis and Madison Moccio (FDU) each found the back of the net. Madeline Kavanaugh chipped in with an assist and four ground balls. Defensively it was Emma Lembo and Addyson O’Brien each forcing two turnovers. For YJ Babst they now advance to the semifinals where they will face off against the 2029s of YJ Friedman in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday 1/10 at 4:00pm

YJ Friedman 2029 vs Team 91 Avalanche 2028

In pool 1 of the Varsity Club Division, number one seeded YJ Friedman put together a wire-to-wire performance, rolling past the fourth seeded Team 91 Avalanche by a 12–1 final after jumping out to an 8–0 halftime lead. YJ Friedman controlled every phase of the game, setting the tone early with efficient offense and balanced scoring while controlling time of possession to secure the victory. For YJ Friedman Sophia Enea led the way as she jump started the offense, finishing with four goals consistently finding space and capitalizing on her opportunities. Lainie Friedman contributed two goals and an assist, while Natalie Takacs dished out two assists along with a goal. Also posting one goal with two assists was Nicole Manolakes, and additional goals from Ava Savarese, Karstyn LoRusso, Molly McNamara, and Sarah Paci rounded out the scoring. YJ Friedman’s midfield and defensive units were equally impressive. McNamara controlled the middle of the field with a team-high seven ground balls and two draw controls, while Summer O’Neill and Cassidy Ferrara were active defensively, combining for multiple caused turnovers and ground balls. Team 91 Avalanche 2028 continued to battle despite the scoreboard and was led by Delia Pawlak, who scored the team’s lone goal. Brooke Filosa registered the lone assist along with a caused turnover. In the semifinals YJ Friedman will face the 2030s of YJ Babst in a must-see matchup coming up on Saturday 1/10 at 4:00pm.

Commack vs Excelsior

Shifting over to the Varsity A bracket the third seeded Commack Cougars pulled away in the second half to secure a 16–9 victory over the second seeded Excelsior Free Agents after an up-tempo and competitive opening frame. Commack led 8–5 at the break before matching that output in the second half, using depth, efficient finishing, and strong defensive play to maintain control down the stretch. The Cougars were led by a mesmerizing performance from sophomore Ashley Arizonis, who went video-game mode, striking for eight goals consistently converting in settled offense as well as in transition. Samantha Benedict (VCU) was equally impactful, posting a six-point effort with three goals and three assists while setting the pace offensively and creating scoring opportunities for her teammates. Sarah Franke (UConn) scored twice with two assists and finished key looks, while Leah Cohen (LIU) contributed with two goals and an assist and was active between the lines with five ground balls. Julia Parisi (Scranton) also found the back of the net, and Ava Kolomechuk added an assist. In the midfield and defensive end, Gabriella Brown (Springfield) controlled possession with five draw controls, helping Commack generate extra chances, while Carly Stern anchored the defense from the cage, making 10 saves on 19 shots to finish with a strong 53% save percentage. Excelsior continues to see efficient play from Juliann Brzeski (Stony Brook) who accounted for over half of her team’s scoring with five goals. Kayla Innes added two goals, while Kalliopi Sakalis (Nova Southern) and Austyn Cerasi each chipped in goals. Emma Fernandes and Sophia Enea provided playmaking support with assists, and Skylar Wegiel was active around the ball with multiple ground balls. With the victory for Commack they advance to the semifinals where they will face the 2028s of YJ Maget Bertolone.

Mt. Sinai vs Sacred Heart

Mount Sinai entered the Varsity A Division Playoffs as the top seed in their half of the bracket, taking in the fourth seeded Sacred Heart Spartans and this one went right down to the wire where the Mustangs edged Sacred Heart 11–9 in a matchup that featured momentum swings and strong individual performances on both sides. After Sacred Heart struck first and took a 2–0 lead early, Mount Sinai responded with a big first half, scoring five unanswered goals to carry a 5–2 advantage into the break. Sacred Heart made a strong push in the second half, outscoring Mount Sinai 7–6, but Mount Sinai’s cushion proved to be enough to hold on for the win. The Mustang offense was balanced and efficient, led by Sophia Masone (Georgetown), who netted a team-high four goals on six shots. Lainie Friedman orchestrated the attack with four points, dishing to three assists with one goal while Olivia Romeo (Stony Brook) added two goals and finished key looks. Ava Ciofrone, Lila Callahan (Hofstra), and Gabby Surdi each chipped in two points rounding out the Sinai offense. Defensively Mount Sinai saw two caused turnovers each from Ciofrone and Callie Friedman and in the ground game it was Ciofrone coming away with a game-high five ground balls. For the Spartans it was Rhylee Kirchner (Stetson) who finished with four goals to lead the charge, consistently attacking space and converting from the eight-meter. Freshman Katie Kassap added two goals going 2/2 and excelled on the draw circle, winning 3/4 draw controls. while Maeve Ledwith tallied three points on a goal and two assists and four ground balls. Kylie Gorman and Mya Farrelly each contributed with a goal and an assist, helping fuel Sacred Heart’s second-half surge. In goal, Jordan Solis turned in a strong performance, making 12 saves on 23 shots to keep Sacred Heart within striking distance. As Mount Sinai advances to the semifinals they will face Rocky Point in a Suffolk Class C matchup on Thursday 1/8 at 6:30pm.

Garden City vs Manhasset

Two of the island’s storied programs went head-to-head as we saw the winter installment of the Lady Woodstick Classic between second seeded Garden City and third seeded Manhasset in the opening round of the playoffs in the Varsity AAA Division! These two teams showed why they are among the top teams on Long Island as it was Garden City edging Manhasset 11–10 in double overtime in a tightly contested matchup that featured momentum swings, standout individual performances, and a dramatic finish. Manhasset held a slim 6–5 halftime lead, but Garden City responded in the second half, evening the score at 10–10 by the end of regulation before seeing the heroics once more by Kimberly Colucci (William & Mary) netting the game-winner to send the Trojans to the semifinals! The game-winner for Colucci was her second of the winter league and her fifth goal of the game as she led the charge offensively. LeeLee Gaffney (American) added two goals, while Kiera Ruoff and Ashley Clark (Harvard) each finished with a goal and an assist, helping Garden City maintain offensive flow. Amanda Backer also made her presence felt with a goal and strong work between the lines with three caused turnovers, and on the draw Katie Horn came away with four draw control wins with a 66% winning percentage. Manhasset’s offense was led by a huge performance from Harper Lambert (Duke), who poured in six goals consistently finding space and converting in high-pressure moments. Taylor Gordon (BC) added two goals while also contributing on the draw, and Grayson Denihan (BC) chipped in two goals and an assist, providing a steady presence throughout the game. In the cage it was second half goaltender Ruby Cacciopo (Stanford) denied six shots for a 50% save percentage. With the victory for Garden City they head to semifinals where they will play the winner of Bayport vs Sayville on Sunday at 1:45pm.

St. Anthony’s 2026 vs Northport

Staying in the Varsity AAA Division we had the second seeded Friars going against the third seeded Tigers and this one saw St. Anthony’s come away with an 8–5 win over Northport, using timely scoring and key defensive stops to keep Northport at bay. After taking a 4–2 lead at halftime, St. Anthony’s matched Northport goal-for-goal in the second half, scoring four more times to hold off any comeback attempt and close out a strong overall performance. St. Anthony’s saw the future Gator Emma Speed finishing with a game-high four goals and one assist, showcasing her ability to score from multiple spots while drawing plenty of defensive attention. Madison Sussi (UMass) added two goals, Meadow Szillus (Stony Brook) scored once with one assist and finding the back of the net once was Casey Torre (Stony Brook) Kiera Cameron (Abbey) dished out two assists helping the Friars maintain ball movement. St. Anthony’s defense saw a total of four ground balls and three caused turnovers from Meghan Langton (American) and Sophia Novelli (Vanderbilt) and were each very efficient in the clearing game getting the ball up to the offense. Northport was paced offensively by Megan Florio (Marist), who accounted for four points with two goals and two assists, consistently initiating offense and finding teammates in space. Cassidy Ferrara added two goals on efficient looks, while Kaleigh Howard (Old Dominion) and Teagan Finnegan helped stretch the defense and create opportunities in transition. In cage, Charlotte Cuneo stopped six shots, making several key stops to keep Northport within striking distance. As St. Anthony’s heads to the semifinals they will face the Westhampton Beach Hurricanes on Sunday 1/11 at 1:00pm in a rematch from week 3 where they squeaked by with a 9-8 victory.

St. Anthony’s 2027 vs Comsewogue

Opening up the playoffs in the Varsity AA Division the St. Anthony’s 2027 team entered as the number two seed, taking on the number three seed Comsewogue Warriors and this one saw St. Anthony’s use a fast start and a balanced scoring attack to earn a 10–6 win over Comsewogue, pulling away after a high-scoring first half. The Friars jumped out to a 7–4 halftime lead and followed it up with a composed second-half effort, adding three more goals while limiting Comsewogue to just two to secure the victory.

St. Anthony’s showcased depth across the board, led by Melania Moreo (Binghamton), who scored three goals and was a force between the lines with five draw controls and four ground balls. Beau Davi (BU) played a pivotal role as both a scorer and facilitator, posting one goal and two assists, while Keira Steck (Hofstra) and Estee Mihos each added two goals. Chloe Mullady (Georgetown) contributed a goal and made her presence felt with hustle plays, and Kate Paul (Rider) added a goal while leading the team with four ground balls. Defensively, St. Anthony’s controlled key moments with great on-ball defense from Cassandra Rhodes (American) and received strong play in cage, with Grace Belmonte and Maggie Lynch (Manhattan) combining for eight saves, including an efficient second-half stretch that limited Comsewogue’s comeback chances. With contributions in all phases of the game, St. Anthony’s 2027 delivered a complete performance to come away with a quality win.

Comsewogue was carried offensively by Kamryn McCrary (JMU), who turned in a dominant performance with six goals accounting for all of the team’s scoring and consistently attacking her matchups. Gianna McNulty (Binghamton) chipped in with an assist and helped initiate offense. In goal, Kathryn Arrington (Saint Leo) kept Comsewogue within striking distance with 10 saves and a 50% save percentage.

For the Friars they will face the South Side Cyclones in the semifinals coming up on Saturday 1/10 at 10:00pm.

Rocky Point vs St. Anthony’s 2028

The final game on Saturday evening featured the two seeded Rocky Point Eagles and the third seeded sophomores of St. Anthony’s and this one saw Rocky Point pull away in the second half to secure a 10–6 victory over the Friars using a balanced offensive effort and tremendous play in goal to break a 4–4 tie at halftime. After an even opening frame, Rocky Point outscored St. Anthony’s 6–2 in the second half, using a fast start to the half to take control of the game and not look back.

Rocky Point’s attack was led by Logan Poli, who finished with three goals on three shots, while Abigail Hansen delivered a complete performance with three goals and an assist to pace the offense. Cadence Adamo (USF) added two goals as a result of pushing the pace in transition and strong off-ball movement, while Colbie Burke chipped in two goals to round out the scoring. In the midfield, Kaleigh Moeller (FSU) contributed an assist and two controls. The defense saw Megan Curtin (Mercy) battle for possessions, picking up three ground balls, and in the clear Teagan Trentowski (ESU) was automatic at getting the ball up to the offense throughout the course of the game. Rocky Point was anchored in the cage by Makayla Blaising, who continues to impress, turning in another standout performance with 12 saves and a 67% save percentage, coming up with several big stops during St. Anthony’s pushes.

St. Anthony’s received stout offensive contributions from Sophia Flanagan, Zoe Nolan and Estee Mihos who each struck for two goals with Nolan and Mihos also adding an assist. Also adding two assists was Kate Paul (Rider) and on the draw Emily Gowen came away with 2/3 draw controls. In the ground game it was Sarah Ullrich leading the team with three ground balls for the Friars.

As Rocky Point advances to the semifinals they will take on the Mt. Sinai Mustangs in a Suffolk Class C clash on Thursday 1/8 at 6:30pm.

YJ Curcio vs Westhampton JV

The first game of the day on Sunday morning saw YJ Curcio edge Westhampton JV in a high-scoring, back-and-forth matchup, pulling away late for a 16–12 victory. After a competitive first half that saw YJ Curcio hold a slim 7–5 advantage, both offenses found their rhythm coming out of the break before YJ Curcio used a strong second-half push to secure the win.

YJ Curcio’s attack was headlined by Ashley Manolakes, who finished with a team-high four goals consistently converting her opportunities to ignite the offense. Cameron Falkman delivered a big all-around performance with three goals and an assist, while Charlotte Hoschel and Morgan Kashetta also struck for two goals. Molly McCabe chipped in with a goal and an assist, and Olivia Garritano and Brianna Grever each found the back of the net to round out a balanced offensive effort. From the midfield, Madeleine Dircks was a key distributor, recording three assists and helping drive the offense. As a team the YJ defense forced 11 turnovers led by three takeaways from Olivia Grecco followed by two caused turnovers each from Ariana Joe and Brianna Grever and one a piece from Madeline Burke, Keira Holt, Madeleine Dircks, and Lilly Glick. In the ground ball department it was Cameron Falkman and Ariana Joe with three gb’s each followed by two scooped up by Olivia Grecco, Olivia Comber, Molly Ruddy and Morgan Kashetta.

Westhampton kept pace throughout behind strong individual performances. Abby Luzim powered the offense with three goals and two assists, including a perfect 3-for-3 on free-position attempts. Henley Tuthill added a hat-trick as well while Karstyn LoRusso posted a line of two goals and an assist and was active in the draw circle and on ground balls. Katy Lourenco and Annie Back also chipped in offensively as Westhampton continued to apply pressure. Standing out on defense for the Hurricanes was Kaitlin Kelly who had a team-high three caused turnovers and two ground balls.

YJ Hoschel 2032 vs YJ Patrone Cristodero 2031

In a YJ vs YJ matchup it was the 32s of YJ Hoschel against the 31s of YJ Patrone Cristodero, and it was the 32s delivering a tremendous all-around performance to pull away from YJ Patrone, earning a convincing 16–5 victory. YJ Hoschel set the tone early with a fast start, building a 6–2 halftime lead, and then turned up the heat in the second half with a 10-goal outburst to pull away for the big win.

Offensively, Claire Csajko came out firing, finishing with four goals and an assist while consistently creating high quality scoring opportunities off the dodge. Elena Dooley added a big impact performance with three goals, winning key draws and getting downhill in transition. Bryn Schwinn chipped in with a balanced two goals and two assists, while Isabella Ferraresi put together another strong all-around game with two goals and an assist as well as two caused turnovers. Additional scoring came from Kylie Hochmuth, Julia Abiuso, Kendall Harned, Aubrey Herbst, Kinsley Hamill, and Giavanna Iovine, highlighting their high powered offense. YJ Hoschel also controlled possession and the defensive side of the field, with Charlee Prado scooping up a team-high five ground balls followed by four ground balls secured by Reese Henderson who also created two turnovers. In goal, Rebecca Baas and Zoe Gieser combined to limit Patrone to just five goals.

For YJ Patrone-Cristodero 2031, their five goals were scored by five different players including Charlotte Dennehy, Alessandra Yoo, Evie Duswalt, Claire Golden, and Lillianna Carlson. Amelia Cynar was a bright spot as a distributor, recording two assists, while Poppy Carey delivered three caused turnovers.

GC Tradition 2029 vs Bayport JV

GC Tradition 2029 and Bayport JV battled to a hard-fought 10-10 draw, trading runs and momentum throughout an evenly matched contest. GC Tradition held a slim 5–4 edge at halftime, but Bayport answered with a strong second half, scoring six times to Traditions five to force the tie as both teams made key plays down the stretch.

Bayport JV was fueled offensively by Kylie Jensen, who was an offensive force doing so as a scorer and a facilitator with three goals including the go-ahead goal with just over a minute remaining, and three assists, accounting for six of Bayport’s 10 goals and consistently driving the offense. Charlotte Bishop added two goals while also contributing on the draw, and Kaelyn Aiello scored a goal with an assist. Camryn Bruckner and Ella Little each found the back of the net, while Elizabeth Campasano added a goal and was active defensively with ground balls and caused turnovers. In goal, Anastasia Cirone and Lilian Capozzi combined for seven saves, making timely stops to keep Bayport within striking distance late allowing them to ultimately tie the game.

GC Tradition showed strong balance across the lineup, with Kaila Hansman leading the way offensively, finishing with three goals, saving the biggest one for last as she tied the game with 15 seconds remaining converting on an 8-meter. Emily Bennett tallied one goal and an assist, winning a draw, and scooped up three balls off the ground. Grace Wheeler, Elizabeth Rogers, Audrey Donahue, and Marlee Cohen each added goals to keep GC Tradition’s offense spread out and balanced. On the draw Emily McDonald came away with two draw controls, coming up with key possessions for Tradition.

Bayport JV vs Ward Melville JV

In the second of two straight games for the Phantoms, Bayport JV controlled the tempo from start to finish in this one in a 10–2 victory over Ward Melville JV, building a 4–1 halftime lead before pulling away with six more goals in the second half. The win for the Phantoms clinches first place in pool 1 and a spot in the championship game.

Continuing to shine this winter is Kaelyn Aiello, who finished with four goals and two assists, consistently winning matchups and converting on free-position opportunities. Charlotte Bishop also added to an already impressive winter with two goals while also making her presence felt on the draw circle with three draw controls helping Bayport maintain possession. Meagan Needleman contributed two goals and an assist, providing a steady scoring threat, while Camryn Bruckner chipped in a goal and was a force defensively, leading the team with seven ground balls. Kylie Jensen and Ella Little rounded out the scoring, with Little also adding an assist.

Defensively, Bayport set the tone early, limiting Ward Melville to just eight shots on goal. Julie Wellems and Maya Carew were active between the lines, combining for five ground balls and multiple caused turnovers, while Ella Little, and Elizabeth Campasano applied consistent pressure. In cage, Anastasia Cirone was sharp, stopping four of five shots for an 80% save rate, with Lilian Capozzi adding two saves in relief to close out the win.

Ward Melville got goals from Allison Karp and Tenley Muscarella, each finishing their chances in the attacking end. Maddox Woreth and MacKenna Negus each recorded an assist, while Negus also contributed on the draw and in transition.

As the Phantoms advance to the title game they will face the first place team from pool 2 which is Tsunami JV for the championship on Sunday 1/11 at 10:45am.

Westhamopton Varsity vs Tsunami Varsity

In the Varsity AAA Division it was the fourth seeded Hurricanes of Westhampton taking down the undefeated top seeded Tsunami in a tightly contested matchup, 8–7, using a strong first half to hold off a late push and secure the win! Westhampton led by as many four goals and took a 6–4 lead into the break, creating early separation that proved to be the difference despite a back-and-forth second half.

The Westhampton offense was well balanced and versatile as Reagan Schindler (Coastal Carolina), scored two goals while consistently pressuring the defense, and Maiya Boughal (Dartmouth) added two goals and controlled play through the midfield, also winning multiple draws. Tierney McEntee (LIU) contributed a key goal and assist, while Caeden Dorn (LIU), Mackenzie Klammer, and Josephine Derby each found the back of the net to round out a balanced scoring effort. Defensively for the Hurricanes, freshman Summer O’Neill did not shy away from the bright lights and was an impact player between the lines with her two ground balls and a team-high three caused turnovers while also doing a stellar job in carrying the ball up the field to the offensive end. In goal Mia Brown (Maryland) who is the great equalizer anchored the unit, finishing with six saves including several timely stops late as to deny Tsunami’s attempt to complete the comeback.

Tsunami was paced by a standout performance from Anna Von Kennel (Florida) who totaled three goals and two assists, creating offense both as a dodger and a feeder. Morgan Hite (Cornell) added two goals and an assist, while Lilly Davenport (Villanova) chipped in a goal and an assist to keep Tsunami within striking distance throughout. Cameron Pokorny (UVA) also found the scoresheet, and Adriana Gromelski (Yale) made her presence felt in transition and on draws, helping Tsunami generate extra possessions.

For the Hurricanes who survive and advance into the semifinals, they take on the 2026s of St. Anthony’s on Sunday 1/11 at 1:00pm in a must-see matchup that is a rematch from week three that was a tightly contested game that went to St. Anthony’s by a score of 9-8.

Tsumani JV vs Team 91 Frenzy 2030

Tsunami JV put together a well-rounded performance to earn an 11–4 win over Team 91 2030 Frenzy, building an early lead and maintaining control throughout. Tsunami set the tone from the opening draw, jumping out to a 6–2 halftime advantage before matching Team 91 goal-for-goal in the second half to close out the victory and clinch the top spot in pool 2.

Offensively, Caroline Galligan was the engine for Tsunami JV, finishing with a team-high five points dishing out five assists with a goal while orchestrating the attack and creating scoring chances for others. Bo Kennedy recorded a hat-trick, consistently finding space in front of the cage, while Kelty Shea added three goals of her own and made a major impact between the lines, also collecting seven ground balls and controlling key possessions. Caitlyn Sherman chipped in two goals and an assist, and Sofia Bravo-Ferrer contributed two goals, rounding out the offense.

Defensively, Tsunami controlled the middle of the field, winning ground balls and limiting second-chance opportunities. Kelty Shea stood out again with her work on the draw, while Quinlan MacColl and Chloe Sherman helped stabilize the defensive end with multiple ground balls. In goal, Caroline Morrison delivered a strong performance, making eight saves on 12 shots for a 67% save percentage, including several stops that halted the 91 momentum.

For Team 91 Frenzy, Emma Regan led the offense with two goals, while Ella Murtha and Elle Meyer each found the back of the net. The Frenzy defense saw standout games from Lynda Santamaria and Antonia Gerbino both creating two takeaways each and combining for five ground balls.

Tsumani will now play for the JV Championship coming up on Sunday 1/11 against the pool 1 winner Bayport JV at 10:45am.

Tsunami Varsity vs Northport

The Blue Wave of Darien and the Tigers of Northport faced off in the consolation matchup of the Varsity AAA Division where Tsunami Varsity pulled away in the second half to secure an 11–6 win over Northport after a tightly contested opening frame. Northport carried a 4–3 lead into halftime but Tsunami flipped the script after the break with an explosive eight-goal second half to pull away and come away with the win. Peyton Joyce (Dartmouth) and Cameron Pokorny (UVA) each scored twice to lead Tsunami, while Carleigh Mascis added to the offense with a goal and two assists each. Morgan Hite (Cornell), Anna Von Kennel (Florida), and Peyton Joyce all made timely contributions in the offensive run, while the Tsunami defense limited Northport to just two second-half goals. In cage for Tsumani was Caroline Morrison who delivered another stout game as she stopped seven shots finishing with a save percentage of 54%. For Northport, the offense was sparked by Vanderbilt commit Kate Atkinson who added to her offensive total with a three goal performance to lead the charge. Kaleigh Howard (Old Dominion) added a goal and an assist and freshman Cassidy Ferrara along with Megan Florio (Marist) chipped in one goal each to round out the Tigers scoring. In the trenches the Tigers saw Emma Greenberg (Florida) scoop up three ground balls followed by two each from Ferrara, Riley Cash (Ohio State) and Mattea Attard.

YJ Curcio 2031 v Team 91 Thunder 2029

Back for their second game of the day was YJ Curcio as they took on the freshmen of Team 91 Thunder and this one saw  YJ edge 91 Thunder, 11–9, in a competitive matchup that saw momentum swings in both halves. YJ Curcio built a slim 7–6 advantage at the break and did just enough defensively in the second half to hold off a late Thunder push. On the offensive side of the field Morgan Kashetta provided a big spark for YJ Curcio with a team-high three goals, consistently finishing in key moments, while Giulianna Mancini added a goal and an assist to help pace the attack. Madeleine Dircks was impactful all over the field for the second time in as many games, scoring once while scooping up four ground balls, and causing a turnover. The defense saw strong play whether it was between the lines or in the clearing game from Lilly Glick which included a big caused turnover, laying her body on the line to draw a charge to give possession back to the YJ offense. Team 91 Thunder was led by Ashley Basso, who posted a game-high four points on three goals and an assist, while Kate Sharkey added three points of her own with a goal and two helpers. Lina Lagravinese and Gabriella Dantes each chipped in multi-point performances, keeping the Thunder within striking distance throughout.

FLG Navy 2031 vs YJ Patrone Cristodero 2031

For the second time this winter the 31s of FLG and the 31s of YJ Patrone Cristodero, this time for a spot in the semifinals of the Middle School Division, and this one also went in favor of FLG as they pulled away in the second half to earn an 11–8 win over YJ after a tightly contested opening frame. YJ Patrone led 4–3 at halftime but in the second half FLG was able to turn the tide, responding with an explosive eight-goal second half to flip the momentum and secure the victory.

Jillian Powers was unstoppable on the offensive end for FLG Navy, delivering a very impressive six-goal performance while also impacting the game in transition and off the draw. Bailey Meyer orchestrated the offense with a big five-point outing scoring a goal and dishing out four assists, consistently setting up teammates. Grace Brueckner and Kate O’Brien added timely goals, while Julia Doskoez anchored the defensive end with 12 saves for a 60% save percentage which included several stops during YJ Patrone pushes.

For YJ Patrone, Christina Morrone accounted for three goals and strong work between the lines with three ground balls, one caused turnover and was 2/2 on the draw circle, while Teagan Chamberlain added two goals and one takeaway. Charlotte Dennehy Olivia Comber and Evie Duswalt contributed key goals, and Makenna Dimaio chipped in an assist while also creating two takeaways. In the ground game it was Dennehy leading the way for YJ with a team-high four ground balls.

GC Tradition 2031 vs YJ Hoschel 2032

In the Semifinals of the Middle School Division it was a club showdown between GC Tradition and YJ Hoschel where the 2031s of Tradition jumped to a fast start on their way to a 13-7 win over the 2032s of YJ Hoschel to advance to the championship game! GC Tradition gained an 8–1 halftime lead behind a strong offensive push and strong control through the midfield, putting YJ Hoschel in catch-up mode for the remainder of the game.

Liesl Leder was outstanding for GC Tradition, leading all scorers with five goals and consistently keeping the heat on the defense with her tremendous finishing ability. Adding to the offense was Lilian Coratti with two goals and one assist, Erin Groarke with one goal and one assist, and Colleen Bennett also with one goal and one assist as they all contributed in a balanced scoring effort. Brae McDonough stuffed the stat sheet with a goal, an assist, and seven ground balls to control possession. In cage, Allison Wong was nothing short of a brick wall with 11 saves and a save percentage of 61% to anchor the defensive end.

YJ Hoschel who stepped up in class certainly showed resilience in the second half, outscoring GC Tradition 6–5 after the break. Aubrey Herbst led the way offensively with three goals, while Elena Dooley added a goal and was active between the lines with four ground balls and two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Isabella Ferraresi, Taylor Mounce, and Keira Corrigan each chipped in goals, and Bryn Schwinn tallied one assist with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Also making an impact in the caused turnover department was Claire Csajko with three to lead the team.

With the victory for Tradition they advance to the title game where they will face the 2031s of Team 91 Crush in a rematch from week two coming up on Sunday 1/11 at 9:15am.

Team 91 Crush 2031 vs FLG Navy 2031

In the final game of the evening the top seed in the middle school division Team 91 Crush punched their ticket to the championship as they delivered a wire-to-wire performance, defeating FLG Navy by a 17–2 final. Crush set the tone early with a 9–1 first half and continued to apply pressure after the break, controlling possession, winning key battles between the lines, and capitalizing on scoring chances on both settled offense and transition. The Crush offense was balanced and relentless, led by Rielly Hagerstrom, who finished with three goals on three shots while also converting an 8-meter opportunity. Holly Schenkel added three goals of her own, consistently finding space on the crease, while Brooke Varian stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, an assist, and three draw controls to drive tempo. Ally Jo Brady was a catalyst in the midfield with a goal and two assists, along with three caused turnovers, and Maeve Fraser and Harley Leake each chipped in multi-goal performances to keep the pressure on throughout the game. Leading the team in the ground ball department was Amelia Barone who secured a team-high four gb’s while also applying the heat on defense with two caused turnovers, and adding great individual defense was Ella Boyle, rounding out a complete team performance by 91 Crush. Bailey Meyer and Quinn McKinley accounted for the Navy goals, while Kate O’Brien added an assist. As a team FLG saw one caused turnover each forced by Bailey Meyer, Lorelei Brush, Isabel Castiglione, and Kate O’Brien. The championship game in the Middle School Division will see 91 Crush face the 2031s of GC Tradition on Sunday 1/11 at 9:15 am in a rematch from week two that saw 91 come away with a 10-8 win.

YJ Maget Bertolone 2028 vs Smithtown East

Opening up the Tuesday evening slate of games was the top seeded YJ Maget Bertolone and the fourth seeded Smithtown East Bulls in the Varsity A Division. YJ Maget Bertolone who entered the playoffs undefeated put together a commanding performance from start to finish, rolling past Smithtown East by a 19–2 final to move on to the semifinals. YJ came out the gate hot early with a 10–1 first half and never let up after the break, adding nine more goals while controlling possession, winning ground ball battles, and dictating pace on both ends of the field.

The YJ offense was balanced and explosive, led by Nora Ruddy, who delivered a game-high six goals and one assist while converting both of her free-position attempts. As she continues to be a dominant force, Ruddy is in the top five in the entirety of the winter league in points with 21 in games played with YJ. Jennavieve Lineman was another major catalyst, finishing with four goals and two assists while consistently pressuring the defense and drawing attention off-ball. Addison Kelly made her presence felt all over the field with three goals, five ground balls, and strong two-way play, while Fabiana Gallagher added two goals and an assist to keep the offense flowing. YJ’s offensive depth continued, with Ilaria Florence, Jamie Medico, and Molly Hyland all posting identical stateliness of one goal and two assists, all contributing as playmakers. Finley Newell dropped three assists, showcasing her vision and ability to facilitate from the middle of the field. As a team they managed to record 14 caused turnovers, with multiple takeaways coming from Jillian Black, Fabiana Gallagher, Finlay Newell and Addison Kelly.

For Smithtown East, Kloe Ferreri and Mia Trama accounted for the team’s goals, each finishing with one. Bowen Monica Schmitt added an assist.

With the victory for YJ they will now face the Commack Cougars in the semifinals this Thursday at 8:00pm for a spot in the championship game.

Eastport South Manor vs Harborfields

Shifting over to the Varsity AA Division it was a Suffolk County clash between the number two seed ESM Sharks and the number three seed Harborfields Tornadoes! This one saw Eastport South Manor edge Harborfields in a tightly contested matchup, pulling away late for an 11–9 victory after leading 6–4 at the half. Both teams traded runs throughout the evening, each going on 3-0 scoring runs in the first half, but Eastport’s balanced scoring and timely defensive stops proved to be the difference down the stretch.

Molly McGuire (Cortland) led the way for Eastport South Manor with a hat-trick and two assists as she jump started the offense early and often. Lauren Valenti (Saint Leo) was a major spark, posting three goals her own. Sophomores Caitlin Oliver and Alexa Quiery chipped in two goals each and an assist from Quiery as well to keep the offense flowing. Kate Valenti (Saint Leo) impacted the game in multiple ways with a goal, two ground balls, and four draw controls to help Eastport control key possessions. Defensively, Eastport leaned on strong team play and a standout performance in cage from freshman Julia VerStraten, who made 10 saves on 19 shots for a 53% save percentage as she was cool, calm and collected on the big stage.

Harborfields was paced by Nora Ruddy, who finished with four goals as well as three draw control wins, contuing to be a prolific goal scorer. Lyla Droskoski added two goals, while Taylor Cavanaugh (Towson) and Jamie Medico each recorded a goal and an assist.

As ESM advances to the semifinals they will square off against the Ward Melville Patriots on Saturday 1/10 at 10:00pm for a spot in the championship game.

Ward Melville Varsity vs William Floyd

The Patriots of Ward Melville and the Colonials of William Floyd went toe-to-toe in a Suffolk Class A matchup in the Varsity AA Division of the playoffs! It was Ward Melville holding off a late push from William Floyd to secure a 10–8 win in a competitive matchup to move on to the semifinals. Ward Melville led by as many as three goals in the first half and held a 7–5 lead at the break. In the second half Floyd rallied from the three goal deficit to tie the game 7-7. However the Patriots once again found their footing and would regain a three goal lead and ultimately hold on to win by two.

Freshman Nicole Manolakes continues to leave no doubt about her game as she led the way for Ward Melville with a big time performance, finishing with four goals and an assist on four shots on goal while also contributing three ground balls as she was a tone setter in the early stages of the game. Eighth grader Maggie Giachetti was a constant playmaker, recording two goals and two assists while scooping up five ground balls. Keira Pirozzi (Marist) added two goals and an assist, converting both of her free-position opportunities, while also working hard between the lines. Courtney Rowe (Furman) and eighth grader Vivienne Speidell chipped in with goals, and Giavanna Parente (Campbell) made her presence felt with three ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers.

William Floyd stayed within striking distance behind a strong effort from Rylie Wiegand (LIU), who led the offense with three goals on three shots. Young gun Bailey Meyer contributed all over the field with a goal, three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw controls, while Farryn Marchese added a goal and was active defensively. Emma DiMaio (Stony Brook) finished with a goal and an assist, and Jayla Pimentel (Pace) and Samantha Seaman (Georgian Court) each found the back of the net. In goal, Floyd received a strong second-half effort from Ava Asendorf, who made seven saves with a dazzling 70% save percentage, helping keep the game tight late.

For the Patriots their victory now sets up a semifinal matchup against Eastport South Manor on Saturday 1/10 at 10:00pm.

South Side vs Wantagh

Continuing in the Varsity AA Division the top seeded Cyclones and the number four seed Warriors took the field in a rematch of last year’s county championship where South Side delivered a dominant performance on both ends of the field, pulling away for a 13–3 victory over Wantagh after taking a 6–2 lead into halftime. The Cyclones controlled possession throughout the contest and continued to apply pressure in the second half, outscoring Wantagh 7–1 to put the game out of reach.

South Side’s offense was led by Skye Korten (Albany), who posted a five-point effort with three goals and two assists while adding four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Caitlin McNulty (UMass Lowell) was another key contributor, finishing with two goals and two assists and consistently creating opportunities in the offensive end. Juliet Diorio matched Korten with three goals on three shots, while also scooping up four ground balls. Kiera McNamara added two goals, and Summer Stack chipped in with a goal while making an impact on the draw circle with two draw controls. Defensively, South Side set the tone early, forcing turnovers and limiting Wantagh’s scoring chances. Bobbie Creo (Holy Cross) was active between the lines, scooping up four ground balls with a caused turnover, while Molly Gominiak added a caused turnover and was a steady presence in the clear getting the ball up to the Cyclones offense.

Wantagh was led offensively by Camryn Naus, who accounted for all three of the Warriors’ points with two goals and an assist. Mia Dankenbrink (Siena) added a goal and an assist while also contributing on the draw with two controls. Defensively, Annika Kurz and Ava Oriol worked tirelessly, combining for seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

South Side advances to the semifinals of the Varsity AA Division for a matchup against the 2027s of St. Anthony’s on Saturday 1/10 at 9:15pm.

Harborfields vs William Floyd

In game two of the night for both Harborfields and William Floyd, this one saw Harborfields pull away in the second half to earn a 17–9 win over William Floyd after a tightly contested opening half. Harborfields held a slim 7–6 advantage at the break, but a 10-goal second-half surge proved decisive as they took control of the game with sustained offensive pressure and strong play in transition.

Towson commit Taylor Cavanaugh led the way for Harborfields with a scintillating nine-point performance, finishing with five goals and four assists while consistently creating scoring opportunities all evening long. Jamie Medico was a force in all phases of the game, tallying three goals and two assists to go along with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Nora Ruddy also delivered a standout showing, scoring four goals and adding two assists while controlling the draw circle with seven draw controls. As Ruddy continues to add to her scoring total she is currently in the top 10 in the winter league in total points with 18 in games played for Harborfields. Freshman Harper Kleet chipped in with two goals, continuing to show her offensive prowess while Lyla Droskoski also found the back of the net for two goals.

William Floyd was paced by future Seawolf Emma DiMaio, who recorded six points on three goals and three assists, and Rylie Wiegand (LIU), who added four points with a goal and three assists. Riley Meyer contributed two goals, while Ava Tiedemann (LIU) and Bailey Meyer each found the back of the net.

Comsewogue vs Wantagh

In a Warriors vs Warriors matchup between Comsewogue and Wantagh, this one saw Comsewogue delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, rolling past Wantagh 13–3 behind a fast start and balanced production across the field. Comsewogue jumped out to a 7–1 lead in the first half, controlling possession and tempo early, and followed it up with six more goals after the break to add to their lead.

Gianna McNulty (Binghamton) was one of the top performers for Comsewogue, finishing with three goals and an assist while consistently finding space and converting her chances. Alanna Ragone added three goals of her own, providing a steady scoring presence, while Paige Knott matched that output with a three-goal effort. Madison Moccio (FDU) stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, one assist, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers, making a major impact on both ends of the field. Kamryn McCrary (JMU) was the engine of the offense, dishing out six assists and controlling play with five ground balls and a draw control, while Megan Brideson (Rollins) and Parker Puglisi each chipped in goals to round out a well-balanced attack. Defensively, Comsewogue set the tone early, forcing turnovers and limiting Wantagh’s quality looks. Eighth grader Lily Arnone stood out in the midfield going a perfect 4/4 on draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers, helping Comsewogue gain a sizable advantage in time of possession.

Wantagh was led offensively by Kylie Coners (Pace), Mia Dankenbrink (Siena) and goalie Averie Rissland who spent time playing the field filling in for the short-handed Warriors. Camryn Naus added an assist and between the lines eighth grader Emily Tobin secured two ground balls along with two caused turnovers.

Wantagh/Comsewogue vs William Floyd

Putting an end to the Tuesday slate of games we had a Wantagh/Comsewogue combo team facing the Colonials of William Floyd where the Warriors edged out Floyd in a tightly contested matchup, earning a 9–8 victory after leading 5–3 at halftime and holding off a late second-half push. Both teams traded momentum throughout, with William Floyd closing the gap in the final minutes, but the Warriors early offensive efficiency and timely defensive stops proved to be the difference.

James Madison commit Kamryn McCrary headlined the offense for the Warriors, delivering a dominant performance with three goals and three assists for six points, consistently creating offense and finishing in key moments. Gianna McNulty (Binghamton) played a pivotal role as well, contributing one goal and three assists while helping orchestrate the attack. Mia Dankenbrink, (Siena), Camryn Naus, Emily Tobin, Paige Knott, and Madison Moccio (FDU) each chipped in goals, giving the Warriors balanced scoring across the lineup. Defensively, Averie Rissland anchored the cage in the first half where she delivered five saves including a few big stops on doorstep and a save percentage of 63%. In the second half it was Maddy Gonzalez stopping three shots with a 50% save percentage.

William Floyd was led offensively by Rylie Wiegand (LIU), who posted two goals and two assists, while Ava Tiedemann (LIU) added two goals and controlled the draw with two draw controls. Emma DiMaio (Stony Brook) also accounted for two goals, and Samantha Seaman (Georgian Court) and Jayla Pimentel (Pace) each found the back of the net once. The defense got tremendous play from Khloe DiMaio who was a clearing machine and also forced two turnovers.

*Note that on the website this game will read as a 1-0 win for William Floyd due to Wantagh being shorthanded.
